The Landessportbund Nordrhein-Westfalen is the umbrella organisation of organised sport in NRW and is based in Duisburg in the “Haus des Sports”.

The LSB NRW currently organises 20,000 clubs with a total of 5 million members. Its member organisations currently include 63 sports associations and 54 city and district sports associations (SSB/KSB). This includes the Recklinghausen district sports association, of which the Recklinghausen city sports association is a member.
