Since 1973, the “Week of Sport, Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen” has been a permanent fixture at the Ruhrfestspiele from the end of May to the beginning of June, emphasising the combination of movement and culture with its varied programme.
Numerous Recklinghausen sports clubs present themselves and their work as part of the “Week of Sport” and encourage people to get moving. Participation is expressly encouraged.
